About Us
Anchoring is so important; it can make or break your time spent on the water. Quite apart from knowing how to anchor, secure holding in an anchorage often depends on the type of equipment selected. For decades now, boat owners have relied on the tried and trusted plough, Bruce and Admiralty anchors to guarantee a good night’s sleep when at anchor. These established anchors are usually fairly drab and are probably the least attractive, yet most important piece of equipment on any boat. Then about in 2005 a new, shining anchor came to the marine market. The ULTRA Anchor quickly established a reputation for excellent holding power and its adorable stainless steel looking. The history of the development of this most technically advanced anchor the world has ever seen is as interesting and surprising as is the level of acceptance these brilliantly engineered anchors have achieved. While most well-known anchors have evolved from the world’s established maritime nations, the ULTRA Anchor was first designed and manufactured by a little known Turkish engineering firm, based in Istanbul. Perhaps most importantly, it was two men’s passion for engineering and boating that led to the development of an anchor that boasts the ultimate in holding power. Formed in 2000, Boyut Marine was established as the Marine Department of Boyut Mechanical Industry, which had been designing manufacturing stainless steel machine parts since 1978 (The department changed its name to ULTRA Marine in 2012 after their ULTRA branded products become more known than Boyut Marine). Devoted boaters at heart, Yılmaz Yücel and Nejat Övütmen started the Marine division of the company with the specific intention of developing superior equipment.

Testimonials
View AllThis new anchor, USAS35/77-B, 35kg/77lbs ULTRA Side Pocket Anchor, literally saved our investment from much a lack of use.
Thanks to your newly launched ULTRA Side Pocket Anchor Unbalanced, designed for the bow pocket of our yacht, we can now sleep soundly.
I just wanted to let you know your “Ultra Flip Swivel” really works great. I have tried it many times now and feel its safe to let my wife stow the anchor.
I Knew once I unwrapped this absolutely GORGEOUS piece of stainless-steel artwork, that is the Ultra UA16/35, I made the correct choice on quality.
After a night spent on watch with 50 kts. of true wind in Sicily I simply wish to send you and your family my utmost appreciation for the fantastic 80 Kg. Ultra Anchor anchor I bought from you 3 years ago coupled to its swivel.
Nicole hurricane hit us directly at Wabasso Bridge Florida. Eye went right over. 51kt sustained and higher gusts. 27kg ultra anchor with 110ft all chain and 2 snubbers in 8 ft of water. We held like glue!
Not only beautiful mounted on our bow but works great in the Florida Keys bottom. Great functional design, very happy.
I previously ordered an Ultra Anchor, UA60-132, and swivel from you (invoice #D5..). I am extremely happy with the product, and we have mentioned that numerous times on our social media.
I am so glad that I bought the ULTRA Anchor. That is an excellent anchor; I have never dragged or had trouble getting it to hold.
We were at Fort Pierce FL when we took delivery of our new ULTRA Anchor. Changed it out and we have never dragged since. You saying is correct. Set it and forget it!!
Bottom line, I think the Ultra anchor is far from “motor boat jewellery”! Yes, it’s pretty and expensive, but together with the swivel it represents a great piece of engineering,...
I used it quite often on my way down to Portugal, and each time it immediately grabs into the ground with perfect holding. Drop and forget. Never any worries, never bad holding. The Ultra Anchor is really a perfect (and beautiful) anchor!
I bought a 132 pound Ultra anchor with swivel and harness snubber set up. I have been using the system for four years and can tell you that the anchor sets like a rock. Very solid and resets with changing tides and currents very quickly. I have scuba dived to check many times and without fail it is buried to the shank! A bit expensive but worth every nickel and looks great!
We want to inform you how happy we are with the Ultra anchor. We have been anchored out now for 6 weeks along the Turkish coast in some of the same mud bottom that we dragged in with our old Rocna. In Knidos for example is hard clay/ mud, and we popped out the Rocna as it was fouled with hard mud and wouldn't reset.
No matter where we anchor, we know we can sleep tight. In the Exumas, where the water is so clear, we love to show off by letting our guests actually see the anchor sink into the sand right in front of their eyes.
I had a chance to use the anchor in the Greek islands under powerful winds, but the ULTRA performed really well. As told, it buried itself deeper by the increased load and kept on holding us perfectly. It also carried another 45 feet boat under 30 knot winds.
We had the opportunity to test the new anchor yesterday. Fabulous! As promised, it set instantly and on held the first try. I watched the GPS like a hawk to see if we were moving. We weren't, and were sitting in about 10 knots of wind. It was also remarkably easy to "break" and because of its polished surface, it easily shed the nasty Chesapeake Bay mud that would cling like glue to the galvanized predecessor.

We thank you everyone for making such an anchor giving us confidence even during this nightmare...
We were always comfortable that our Ultra anchor would hold us in our anchored position during normal conditions. Now, we know what it will do to keep us safely anchored under extreme conditions. We just can’t say enough good thing about your anchors.
After looking and check any detail I felt that had to purchase it!! The confirmation of it, was when the comercial on the stand asked me to try the different scale anchors on a sand box. That was a really nice because could see the real performance on the sand, in model scale.
After multiple dragging episodes with our plow anchor in swift current but calm conditions, we returned to the same location a couple of weeks with our new ULTRA Anchor. Were anchored for several days in the same location including weathering a front with 20-30 mph winds. The anchor stuck immediately upon hitting the bottom and never moved for our entire stay.
The sea trial was a success. But you will now feel very proud of your anchor. An unexpected gale moved over our anchored location and winds were steady for 15 minutes at 53 kts, gusts to 60 kts. The anchor (in mud) held beautifully. What a test. We felt very secure.
Since that initial season of 2013 we have anchored several hundred times and the Ultra has never failed to set immediately on the first try. We have slept much more soundly since then and have the peace of mind that we have the best anchor ever designed.
- if ever I had any doubts that the Ultra was just a beautiful looking peace of deck jewelry (because it IS beautiful !), that night proved me completely wrong.
We just finished serving as a stake boat in ny harbor during the recent America's cup Lois Vuitton series. This required repeatedly anchoring in approximately 50 feet of water in a current up to 4 knots with variable winds from 0 to 32 knots over three days. The coast guard cutter anchored near us was dragging in the mud bottom. The Ultra anchor on all chain held my Hylas 56 like it was on a mooring.
Since June 2014, we use every day our ultra anchor on our Catana 472, at first in Mediterranean, and after in Canara Islands where the Anchor has hold us at anchoring with wind, tide and swell... we were alone at anchoring during 5 days and we had totaly confidence in the ultra anchor.
I've been using your products for more than 6 years with my yacht, particularly your Ultra anchor, and i can say that they are very very good, and that Ultra anchor is the best anchor i've ever had!
My test was in Morehead City, NC this fall in 35 kt winds with a sandy bottom and set the anchor alarm. We were in a narrow anchorage but did not move at all that night. I look forward to continuing test this winter on our trip back to Florida. By the way, the Ultra looks great too.
Ultra Anchor sets the first time every time, and has held fast in some serious thunderstorms in both mud and sand.
We have a 2006 meridian 408 and had purchased your Ultra Anchor from you during the 2014 Annapolis boat show. I am pleased to report after one years use that this was one of the best additions to our boat so far. We have anchored out under not-so-good conditions and this anchor was like a magnet.
About 2 years ago I decided to purchase your Ultra anchor (21KG model) in hopes it would improve the holding. I figured if nothing less the new anchor would weigh 15lbs more and maybe, just maybe that would help. Well guess what? Your anchor holds every single time. It’s amazing - no matter how strong the wind or how weedy the lake bottom the anchor hooks up and won’t let go.
Now I just have to worry about the other guys who don’t have Ultra’s dragging down on me.
We managed to stay stable by the ULTRA Anchor we bought, as recommended by a friend, at Gocek Hamam Bay under powerful winds that lasted for about 90 minutes. We didn’t even move by 1cm.
Just want to let you know that the ULTRA Anchor (UA35-70) with the ULTRA Flip swivel (UFS10) and the Articulated ULTRA Bow Roller has performed exceptionally well during our cruise down from Maine to the Bahamas and back to our home port in Virginia this last winter season.
I can tell you with all my heart that ULTRA Anchor is the only anchor that lets me sleep comfortably.
God bless your hands, efforts, and mind: You are making the world’s best anchor.
Congratulations on having made the most efficient anchor since I have been in boating (over 50 years).
The anchor has held always already at the first time, it was never necessary to try several times. and this on all grounds and with all winds up to 6 bft. with one exception: i had problems on very dense seagrass fields. the anchor came up with a huge amount of gras.
A quick update on our 16kg Ultra anchor. We are with 9 other boats are headed to The Broughton Archipelago. Two nights ago we anchored with the others in a small bay inside Port Neville. A small bay with lots of boats meant a short scope 93 ft of chain in low 38 feet for us the last boat in.
On our first day at anchor, even with heavy boat wake activity and tide changes, the Ultra never moved an inch. I also used your chain grabber system which worked perfectly and took all of the strain off of the windlass. At this point, I was pleased and knew I had purchased a superior product.
The combination of the Ultra-Anchor, your nifty swivel and your chain hook are in danger of making us become over-confident in our anchoring skills. We've been on the hook every night for the last six weeks in the Gulf of California. We've seen your demonstration that the anchor will reset itself but it has not had to prove that to us.
I had a chance to try our new ULTRA Anchor and the swivel yesterday. We went to a specific place where we could not get the previous anchor held, even by trying several times, and the ULTRA held at the first attempt. After that the known storm caught us while we were out of Buyukada island, yesterday.
You did design a fabulous anchor. I can now anchor even by shorter scope at all places where I could not with my old B…. anchor. Congratulations and keep up with good work.
This is our 2nd year using the Turkish made Ultra Anchor/Swivel/Grab hook. I was 1st made aware of it where someone recommended the Turkish made Ultra Swivel which is a unique design that rights the anchor as it comes over the roller.
We already met at boat shows. My boat is Bavaria 33 Cruiser; our anchor is 16kg Ultra. I already thanked you personally but I wanted to write you to thank again for making such a great product for us. I am already writing about it at forums. We had some incredible adventures with Ultra.
We have now tried it out in mud, sand and coarse sand and it has worked extremely well every time. With our last anchor we could not get it to set in sand - our biggest test - even with scopes of 10:1. The Ultra has set firmly and quickly every time with scopes of 3:1. The anchor also self launches every time whereas we often had to give our last one a kick to get it moving.
Tent gathering the rain on was tight on stern. The crazy wind started to shake the tent out extremely that I thought its connections would break away. We both ran to gather the tent. It got swollen with the crazy wind and it was nearly going to wing us. We barely wrapped it and put into the locker. We were totally wet in such a short time like we felt into water.
I have been using your 21kg Ultra Anchor for three years. It always made me felt totally in safe till today. Furthermore, last Saturday in the Cold Water Cove located at the south part of Kusadasi gulf while I was on anchoring maneuver; my boat flew off the rocks with full speed because of a sudden failure at the engine remote control system when the anchor had just touched to the sea bed.
On a stormy day, all boats from close islands, open bays and harbors crowded into Vilihona bay. Culiana did not anchor; he boarded his boat on me. We wanted to try my anchor. Culiano’s boat is two times bigger then mine. We used 20mt chain at a 6.5m depth. The weather blew nonstop between 28-38 for 24 hours. We saw 52 at showers. After that storm Culiana ran to the internet cafe to buy an Ultra anchor made in Tukey…
I am delighted to confirm that the 80Kg* Ultra not only looks superb but has held my 100 ton yacht securely during 2 days of 40 knot winds with gusts up to 50 knots. At the height of the storm, the anchor slipped some 20m but quickly dug itself in again
We had successful anchoring at each of 5 countries that we had been and stayed safe. We had seen that the products have the all functions told us at the show. As much as the quality of the products, we also thank to the YUCEL family for their warm interest away from commercial anxiety which is proper to sailors.
I have changed my existing anchor immediately and started to use Ultra at the next day. I WAS CHEATED yes I WAS CCCCCHHHHEEEEAAAATTTTTEEEEEDDDDD….??? Yes, you did not get me wrong, all kindness and tenderness, coffee and tea….
When we recover the anchor, we see how it buried itself. When your anchor is being used, there is no need for great timing, maneveour or speed. Our each anchoring attempt resulted with a great success like the first one. Anchoring is not a problem for us no more, we congrulate each others for our success at the each anchoring attempt.
We have used our anchor many, many times throughout our trip and absolutely LOVE it!!! Our new motto is simply "Drop it, Set it, FORGET it! We can't even count how many times we watched other boats drop their anchor, DRAG their anchor, move to another spot, and repeat, repeat, repeat... We never even ONCE had to move because our anchor wouldn't set.
Let me first introduce myself, I’m Steven Dinger. My wife and I currently own a Catana 472 Catamaran. As with many catamaran owners we have owned our share of mono-hulls. I started with a 25’ sloop progressed to a 32’ Garden design and did 14 years of serious cruising with our Norseman 447 and 10 of the 14 years with the 535 cutter rigged.
We hardly found our way to the crowded anchoring area. In the evening we met with Staublar again and after diner we went back to our boat before it was too late. Fortunately, we came back early because, a dragging boat at that storm hooked its chain to our anchor. After working so hard we could let him go.
The anchor that I use now is the Ultra made in Turkey. The reason that I chose that it was designed by a naval architect and it is the developed and perfected shape of S…. anchor which is also a very good anchor. S…. owners have commends about it at a lot of foreign boat magazines. Anyhow I think it is the most expensive anchor in market for today.
I mounted 3 Quickline, two in the push pit and one in the pull pit of my yacht called "Uzaklar II". I spent the winter of 2002 in the Gokova and Hisaronu bays. Sea bound people know, there is just not enough room in these bays and inlets to moor comfortably, so we anchor from the pull pit and tie the push pit to a sturdy station on land for support.
I saw an ad while looking through a magazine in a small inlet in Gokova. The reel in the picture looked quite sensible. I decided to call the number shown. The product called "Quickline" was made of 316 L quality stainless steel. I instantly ordered one.
